Thanks for your note. /proc/asound/cards gives: 0 [ICH6 ]: ICH4 - Intel ICH6 Intel ICH6 with ALC203 at 0xd0000000, irq 177 which, as far as I can tell, is exactly what it should be so nothing suspicious there. Running "amixer contents" gives the info below which I'm not sure how to interpret. Should I switch all of the "values" flags to "on"?
