So, your problem is that darkice wants to get its material from a soundcard rather than as a pipe from another program I take it. It would seem easy to write a module where it read from a pipe instead of the soundcard, or from a file. Ie, your real question is "how can I make darkice read from a file or from stdin instead of from a soundcard?" Ie, instead of a solution (virtual soundcard) this asks the question you really want answered. Unfortunately I cannot answer that question either, but perhaps someone can. In fact you could write to the darkice people and ask if they have any solution to that problem. > > - I mix several sound vith esound and like to broadcast them via that home > LAN. > > Capture \ > MPlayer -> esd -> virtual soundcard -> darkice > Network / > > Of course there is jack but it looks too complex for me:-( > |
