I don't think I did anything unusual, but anyway, here is what I did as far as I remember: The system was an upgrade, meaning that there was already a working Debian Testing running on the system before inserting the MB. Before I installed the MB, I compiled a kernel with the drivers I thought should make the system work (sata_nv, forcedeth, ca0106 etc). The system had a working ALSA 1.0.8 running on an old VIA onboard sound card. When I got the system running, I had the same problem you are having. You can probably find my post from a couple of weeks ago in the archives of this list. The suggestion was also to upgrade to the newest ALSA driver in order to get it working. I downloaded the driver from here: ftp://ftp.alsa-project.org/pub/driver/alsa-driver-1.0.9rc3.tar.bz2 (Seems like the rc3 is out today) I then unpacked and did (probably overkill to make it all): ./configure --with-isapnp=no --with-sequencer=yes --with-oss=yes - --with-cards=all make make install-modules modprobe snd-ca0106, and I had sound. /Jacob -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.4.0 (GNU/Linux) Comment: Using GnuPG with Thunderbird - http://enigmail.mozdev.org iD8DBQFCdnyUiAWIAI3xXVYRAmQtAJwKCkyZJPmOOhsIF/KPhRSbQafgYwCfWGyE yFEu7fsxBCn5a0G3h/H3U1Q= =pTbj -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
