Hmm, i read it works with the intel_8x0 module though.  But now i loaded 
the (newest) nvidia module nvsound.
It seems alsaconf doesn't recognize it. If i execute alsaconf it lets me 
pick "intel8x0" or "legacy".
If i  pick the intel module it does not work, as before, and the intel 
module is loaded.

The sound applications tell me now that my "card is not configured".
