[Alsa-user] softvol + sis si7012 + IEC958 control?

I'm using 2.6.11.2, plus 1.0.8 alsa.  PCM seems to already have softvol
support, at this stage.

Of course, PCM does not control IEC958/digital volume.  Is there a way to
control said volume, without degrading quality?  Perhaps a working Master
volume, via softvol?

Any help appreciated...
