ENI recently installed SuSE 9.2 on my AMD 64 machine which has a Creative Labs SoundBlaster Audigy 2 Value (Model SB0400) sound card. SuSE was unable to automatically configure the sound card and I have been unable the right forum to get help getting this thing going. Hopefully this is the right place. Following is the info that YaST is giving me about the problem: -------- An error has occurred. Check you have correctly installed the ALSA package (from the series 'snd'). If the the problem persists, try passing options to the ALSA module. If your sound card still will not work, try OSS/Free or another module. In this case, launch the YaST sound configuration module from shell using the yast2 sound .oss command. An error occured during the installation ofSB Audigy The kernel module snd-emu10k1 for sound support could not be loaded. This can be caused by incorrect module parameters, including invalid IO or IRQ parameters. -------- The installed alsa version is 1.0.6-8-x86_64. I get this error if I select Audigy or Audigy LS where YaST asks me to identify the hardware. The Sound Card Matrix leads me to believe that the emu10k1 is the right driver (although my specific card is not listed). Can anyone here offer some help? If this is the wrong forum, please accept my apology and point me to the right source. Thanks in advance. ---- Bill Lugg |
