Greetings everyone. First, I apologize if this is posted to the wrong list. If another list is more appropriate (such as devel) I can send it to that list. I represent a digital media company that uses the GNU/Linux operating system in its products. Our next generation audio server will use a custom-engineered sound card that is similar to the M-Audio Revolution 7.1. This card will use the Envy24HT, but instead of using the AK4381/AK4355 DACs, it will use the AK4588 codec. It doesn't appear that this (the codec) is currently supported in the ALSA drivers. We are looking to have support for this added to the ALSA drivers. We are hoping that we can interest some experienced kernel driver hackers to add support for this codec, either by modifying something like the existing revo71 and ak4xxx-adda drivers, or write a new driver (which would probably use lots of existing code). The hardware is undergoing final design review, and we should have working prototypes to test in four to eight weeks. Anyone who is interested in this project should contact me. Thank you for your time. -Ron ron[dot]cococcia[at]request[dot]com |
