-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 Well I just discovered that my NM256AV woes are even worse. I tried to find a PCMCIA sound card to use, cheerily thinking that I'll just work around the fact that both the ALSA and OSS drivers for the NM256AV lock up my laptop. There *are* no supported PCMCIA sound cards in Linux. Auugh! Well, I can type stuff and read stuff, so I suppose that isn't so bad. But as for watching movies, listening to music, etc, I'm utterly screwed. Last desperate plea: has anyone successfully recovered from this kind of thing? I mean, I'm not an EE. Is it even possible for a laptop sound chip actually *die* so completely that it freezes up the CPU? Or is this really a bug in the driver somewhere? - -ken - -- - --------------- The world's most affordable web hosting. http://www.nearlyfreespeech.net -----BEGIN PGP SIGNATURE----- Version: GnuPG v1.2.5 (GNU/Linux) iD8DBQFBQTGGe8HF+6xeOIcRAhEwAJkBhnt4jP3vZoa13eoQnyg67tjRVwCdGjD2 GAC3IJoYj7ez+fQ+UtHnokw= =FUeb -----END PGP SIGNATURE----- |
