I've got 0.9.0rc1 installed on a Red Hat 7.3 system. My Santa Cruz (snd-cs46xx) card works passably for playback and, once all of the channels have been unmuted, I can sometimes get the pass-through sound from my TV card (on line-in or the microphone port of the Santa Cruz) I say "sometimes" because these input ports only seem to work after a sound file has been played - and then, only for about a minute. For instance, when I start up my Zapping (the TV program) KDE plays a sound when the window opens, so the "requirement" is fulfilled, and I get TV audio for about a minute. Then, the audio goes mute (but this is neither reflected nor fixable in any mixer program) until another sound is played. I've confirmed that the TV audio always stays on, so the sound card is at fault. I can only assume that this is related to the closing of audio device since the usage counts on snd-pcm-oss and snd-cs46xx always drop by one right at the instant this happens. I tweaked modules.conf to eliminate "autoclean" on all of the ALSA modules, but to no avail. |
