Dear AJ, > 1. it is a hack.. > it feels like a hack, > it acts like a hack, > it _is_ a hack. What a beautiful sentence :) Other associated concerns are definitely worth mentioning and denotes that Allegro development is in safe and quality-concerned hands. > i'll give you these files if you like, > but are you *sure* you really need/want them ? Actually I'm not in an absolute need of this. Was just curious to see that functionality. A few weeks ago, I saw a student in an inter-college software competition in my town who programmed a fantastic Telephone Answering Machine under Win9x using Allegro+LexGUI. I was so surprised to see that an Allegro+TAPI application just started in main() and WndProc of Allegro was hooked somewhere else to monitor just TAPI related messages. The program ran rock-solid in testing. The source was also compact (regardless of the overhead of executable size). The most impressive point was so fancy-looking GUI with just a few lines of code! That was the compelling reason I'm so interested in seeing such functionality. I tried myself using sub/super-classing as I didn't want to touch Allegro sources myself (even knowing I'm free to do that!) I'll be grateful if you send the files because they are modified by an expert not a novice like me. it'll also be helpful for me to understand Allegro sources better. Thanks. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Tired of spam? Yahoo! Mail has the best spam protection around http://mail.yahoo.com |
