Thank you one and all for your kind and prompt replies! The reason I = wanted to use Turbo C++ 3.0 is because I have a large number of original = utilities and games written in Turbo C (but using my own graphic = library), and really do not want to rewrite thousands of lines of code. = I just was hoping to use Allegro to finally be able to add /portable/ = MIDI and sound to my apps. I made the mistake back in 1990 of buying the = Creative Labs Soundblaster Dev Kit to write all the audio - which of = course meant NOBODY could hear my music and sound! (It was incompatible = with itself, yikes!) *sigh* So I have all these games and can't share them cuz the sound drivers are = totally obsolete. If any of you knows where there is a (free) MIDI and = sound API for DOS, I would be /most/ appreciative. Thank you once again one and all for your kind replies! Muffit |
