BTW:

I had another problem with MSVC:
each time I included alleg's headers and wrote END_OF_MAIN(); after main()
function it complained link.exe while it was in bin directory , I had
installed full directx 7 sdk, and ofkoz I ran vcvars32.bat...

programs that did not use allegro compiled ok...
that's weird... I tried various application project and
tried all that docs/build/msvc.txt contains but I didn't get it
working...
although allegro itself compiled succesfully (!?)

I can't reproduce exact error messages (I have deleted msvc) but surely some
of them told about lack of linker....
