i put the routine in a loop and called it each time after changing the 
attributes of the parabola a little bit. the result produces a series of 
lines intertwined and the pixels in between the lines form very intricate 
patterns...however 100 parabola calls runs me 10 seconds. that's a lot. i 
just want to see if my function is at par, or if i should just rewrite it.

how much time do you want it done in ?
is this for a real-time app ?
is your aim  accuraccy  or speed of execution ?
