Huh, but wasn't allegro supposed to be in 8 bit mode when you initialized it? I always thought you had a set_color_conversion(8) inside the init routine. Now I have a program which runs in text mode loading/saving 32 bit images. If that assert won't tell me anything about "Warning: set_gfx_mode not called", I agree on the change as it won't break my program :-) Grzegorz Adam Hankiewicz - gr...@in... - http://gradha.infierno.org/ Gogosoftware - http://welcome.to/gogosoftware/ >From <all...@ma...> Wed Mar 31 08:28:23 1999 Received: from KVIASV.KVI.nl [129.125.15.5] by mail.canvaslink.com with ESMTP (SMTPD32-4.06) id A2F431602CC; Wed, 31 Mar 1999 08:28:20 -0500 Received: from KVI.nl by KVI.nl (PMDF V5.2-29 #34344) id <01J9HGUTD9CGE2XHK2@KVI.nl> for al...@ma...; Wed, 31 Mar 1999 15:27:51 MET Date: Wed, 31 Mar 1999 15:27:46 +0100 (MET) From: VERSTEEGH@KVI.nl Subject: Re: [AL] TrueColor and Palette (part III) To: al...@ma... It's important to think hard about what messages you >output, so they will actually be helpful to people. I do hope there is a compiler option for them ? I mean loggin would slow down everything (even when it's turned off it would be a lot of extra if (logging) checks), so it migh be useful to be able to build a lib without them. Another idea, in Wham I have a trace function which takes printf style arguments and works in both textmode and graphics mode. It just prints a message and waits for a keypres. this function can be extremely usefull in debugging, so you might want to add it to the allegro textout routines. Martijn Versteegh |
