Hi, distance achieved is also a height thing. If both ends are 2 m above ground, and both ends are on a large flat area, you will get a range of X km (don't know what X is, but,,,,) Now, if there is a river running through that large flat area, range will decrease from X km. If one end is on a hill, range will go up quite a bit. Now, if both ends are on top of a hill, range will double or triple. it has something to do with fresnel and dispersion.....
