And I can't find anywhere in the web or telnet interfaces > to set the number of clients. A "BSS" is a "Basic Service Set" - which I believe means basically a cell controlled by an Access Point. An "IBSS" is an independent version of the above i.e. w/out the central control also known as an "Ad hoc" cell... From the error messages it sounds like your AP is operating w/either a corrupted installation key or is simply missing the installation key. You can check and see if your AP has an installation key by rebooting it - and viewing it's power up status display with a serial connection at 9600 baud. It will display a directory of files - and the one you are looking for should be the first file in the list: Config:AP Installation Key What this means is the AP has an installation key file in it's "config" filesystem. If this file is missing - you need to contact tech support (I think this is the proper procedure) and see about getting another one for your AP. I have never seen one "simply disapear" since they are stored in the flash on the AP - the only time I have seen AP's missing them is when someone accidentally deleted it from the bootup menu....
