Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 5 Private: No Submitted By: ADAXA (adaxa) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: Move UOM conversion to Product window? Initial Comment: As a UOM conversion needs to be defined for each product it would be more user-friendly if the "UOM conversion" tab was on the Product window rather than the UOM window. The "Product" and base "UOM" can be inherited from the Product tab. The "Multiply Rate" can also be undisplayed so conversion from an "each" to a "6-pack" is "divide by 6" not "Multiply by 0.16666667". The 'multiply by' is not so intuitive. This is just an AD change but may be worth adding to GardenWorld? (The UOM Conversion under UOM may need to be retained for later setting of generic conversions like gram to kilogram where no product will be set.) regards ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Bayu Cahya P (bayucahya) Date: 2009-02-28 13:46 Message: Hi, Seem we go to the right direction. I do agree with this proposal. This will add some flexibility to each of our product. +1 vote, mean while for easy transition, we have to retain the old UOM conversion window. regards Bayu http://sistematika.web.id ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Teo Sarca (teo_sarca) Date: 2009-02-17 17:00 Message: Hi, We (Steven & me) chatted a little bit privately regarding this and here is my update: * I agree to introduce a new tab int Product window to allow user to easy manage the UOM's for current selected product. * I DO NOT agree to drop current functionality, nor making C_UOM_Conversion.M_Product_ID column mandatory nor deleting current UOM Conversion window. I would prefer to mark product as mandatory in such tab until this is improved" I agree, the post was mainly directed to moving the existing functionality from UOM to Product where it is easier to deal with. Product will be mandatory as it is the link column. [and the from UOM should be same as in Product tab and be read only]. That's 2 votes. Any other views? ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Carlos Ruiz (globalqss) Date: 2009-02-16 21:47 Message: Hi Steven, agree with you on this preserving both tabs. > (The UOM Conversion under UOM may need to be retained for later > setting of generic conversions like gram to kilogram where no product > will be set.) I think we better preserve this tab - that's no problem, there are several adempiere tables maintained in different windows (i.e. AD_User). And about generic conversions, unfortunately those are not working - and potentially causing data corruption. I would prefer to mark product as mandatory in such tab until this is improved: UOM conversion without product not working https://sourceforge.net/forum/forum.php?thread_id=2165767&forum_id=611163 Regards, Carlos Ruiz - globalqss http://globalqss.com ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=879335&aid=2604515&group_id=176962 |
