Bugs item #816901, was opened at 2003-10-02 19:35 Message generated for change (Comment added) made by hendersj You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=543745&aid=816901&group_id=75380 Category: None Group: None Status: Open Resolution: None Priority: 8 Submitted By: Jim Henderson (hendersj) Assigned to: Nobody/Anonymous (nobody) Summary: DLink DWL650+ Kicks Other Devices off Network Initial Comment: Have tried both the CVS release and the 0.2.0pre3 release so far. It seems that at random intervals, something from this driver/card causes some sort of disconnect of devices on the wifi network. AP is a Linksys WAP11 and has worked fine until this change in the wifi network. I know I don't have enough information here to troubleshoot the problem effectively, which debug switches are needed to provide useful information on the problem? Thanks, Jim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- >Comment By: Jim Henderson (hendersj) Date: 2003-11-30 21:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=624494 Sorry have been away for a while. Just downloaded latest CVS, problem still exists - attached is the log file taken with debug=0xbb. There is a deauthen sequence reported in timeframe 20:49:58 that occurred at the same time as the disconnect of other devices on the network. Hope this helps track down the probelm. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas Mohr (andim2) Date: 2003-11-10 13:21 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=132674 Only the standard debug 0x9b value. A better but larger option would be 0xbb. Please try to find out at which time exactly the card kicks other clients off the network, and try to find out which log operation caused this. (maybe it's some deauthen or similar which we haven't implemented quite right...) And I could also have a look at the attached messages log again... Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jim Henderson (hendersj) Date: 2003-10-20 18:08 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=624494 And a useful feature at that, at least my wife thinks so since it's in her laptop. :-) What additional information can I provide to help diagnose this issue? Jim ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas Mohr (andim2) Date: 2003-10-16 11:41 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=132674 Hmm, this should have almost highest priority. But OTOH we might want to keep this as an iwpriv feature once we manage to fix it ;-) (YAY, unlimited bandwidth, with noone else to share ;-))) OK, just joking, but OTOH it might still be useful sometimes... ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jim Henderson (hendersj) Date: 2003-10-08 09:42 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=624494 Tried it last night, was going to post a follow-up and didn't get a chance to. 0.2.0pre4 did not fix the issue for me. Thanks! ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Andreas Mohr (andim2) Date: 2003-10-08 01:46 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=132674 Could you try 0.2.0pre4? angelbane's Deauthen fix MIGHT have fixed this problem, too. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Comment By: Jim Henderson (hendersj) Date: 2003-10-07 20:31 Message: Logged In: YES user_id=624494 I'm attaching the /var/log/messages file (clipped to relevant sections) that hopefully shows the disconnect/reconnect, not knowing what options to turn on in the debugging switches, I just left the debug= parameter off the options line in modules.conf - if there is a specific option that would help diagnose this, please let me know. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- You can respond by visiting: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&atid=543745&aid=816901&group_id=75380 |
