The resulting driver is quite unstable: 1. A scan fails to reveal any nearby networks. 2. modprobe -r acx does not get rid of wlan0. That is, iwconfig shows wlan0 even after having run modprobe -r acx. Afterwards, when NetworkManager tries to configure the wlan interface, the computer spontaneously powers off.
