Hello, I'm working with my Presario 17XL364 laptop. I have patched acpi-20020503-2.4.18.diff.gz with kernel-2.4.18 and now there is no /proc/acpi/. :( (but the acpi modules still can be installed...very strange.) From reading the messages in the mailing list, it seems like I get the buggy BIOS. How could I patch it? I'm a new hand and it would be nice if someone can teach me.:) Very thanks Tim Tsai p.S : Here is my dmesg: Linux version 2.4.18 (root@bbnsnb) (gcc version 2.95.4 20011002 (Debian prerelease)) #1 Sat May 11 16:25:26 CST 2002 BIOS-provided physical RAM map: BIOS-e820: 0000000000000000 - 000000000009f800 (usable) BIOS-e820: 000000000009f800 - 00000000000a0000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 00000000000eb000 - 0000000000100000 (reserved) BIOS-e820: 0000000000100000 - 0000000007ff0000 (usable) BIOS-e820: 0000000007ff0000 - 0000000007fffc00 (ACPI data) BIOS-e820: 0000000007fffc00 - 0000000008000000 (ACPI NVS) BIOS-e820: 00000000fff80000 - 0000000100000000 (reserved) ACPI: have wakeup address 0xc0001000 On node 0 totalpages: 32752 zone(0): 4096 pages. zone(1): 28656 pages. zone(2): 0 pages.
