You of all people should know that the efforts of some parts of the company do not reflect the opinions of some of the individuals of that company. FWIW, OSDL did not set up the bugzilla database; it simply donated hardware and are hosting it. AFAIK, it is maintained by a group of developers at IBM. Posting patches solely to a bug-tracking database eliminates the possibility of review or feedback through the traditional means - email. It severely limits visibility to the people that actively track the database and/or subscribe to yet another splinter list. Many people are not willing to do that because it adds unnecessary steps to the review process or simply because they do not have time. > I think the general consensus is that email is not a good bug tracking system.
