open the X11 terminal (should be in mac HD -> Applications -> Utilities -> X11) and type "winemine" or "notepad" and press return. Native Windows apps don't work yet, but work is being done to port some Opensource windows stuff... (slowly)

If you cd /usr/local/bin, that should put you in a folder with a bunch of wine stuff. From there, type ./winemine or ./notepad or whatever. Worked for me.

I don't know much about the terminal but I managed to compile and install wine, but now how do I open an application? Please help!

I have installed the new package and I want to play winemine, please help.
Thanks,
Alexander the Great
The package I installed was from: http://sourceforge.net/project/showfiles.php?group_id=69890&package_id=68971&release_id=213245
In my home directory I found a folder called .wine, but there's no program to run inside. Oh well, tell me sometime soon how to run winmine.
Thanks,
Alexander the Great
Seems straightforward enough, but it's just not working for me.
Running Panther 10.3.2, X11 1.0 (XFree86 4.3.0) and Darwine 1.0.6 DP.
Both winemine and notepad come up as "command not found". I'm in my home directory by default. Should I be in a different directory?

Ooh, dang... replied to the wrong message. :(
Anyway, FWIW, I installed it from the .DMG file here, rather than compiling the source.

I also can't run winemine or notepad. Here's my Terminal output.

I had X11 open why I did that. Maybe I should close it?
I quit X11 and try again and NOGO.
It seems that it won't open in my X11.app.
Sorry about the long message above.

Dragging it to the dock is the only way I have ever gotten wine to work. Thanks for the tip!
DO NOT USE TERMINAL!!!!
USE X11 FOUND IN THE UTILITIES FOLDER!!!
