Not knowing how many of the developers are familiar with mTF, I present this long-standing annoyance to you. Every version of the QF server I have used (since February/March) causes jetjumps to fail quite frequently. The frequency of failures seems directly proportional to the latency and packet-loss evident on the client. This is a very critical bug for the future of this mod, because the most recent versions require the QuakeForge engine to run. And as far as I am aware, the QuakeForge project is the only server/client combo currently in development.

How they fail, exactly, is difficult to describe. The jetjump is supposed to propel the user a set distance at a rapid, set speed. However, all too often the jump comes up far short, and does not propel at the same speed each time. This is a bug unique to the QuakeForge server, as the 2.40 vanilla server does not have this issue. I beg you fix it, or match play cannot ever be tolerated on this engine.

MegaTF is very sensitive to packet loss and lag, particularly with the jetjump. In this scenario, we don't really do anything differently than QuakeWorld did. The Zap MegaTF servers seem to have no problems on this front, however, and they're running QuakeForge.

QuakeForge is not the cause of your failing jetjump. The failing JetJump is due to the Mega2k JetJump code, and not the QF code. The JetJump will fail when the player is facing a certain angle. I have heard conflicting stories of whether the failing JetJump is, in fact, a bug, or whether it was purposely added to provide an aspect of realism.
