OK my bad! I found it in AUTOMATION WINDOW. If that button to access the window had some text, it would be easier to discover :) Just my two cents

But we can already set our own Message Beep sound via mmsys.cpl :) Whatever the "Default Beep" sound event is set to, rundll32 user32.dll,MessageBeep will play that sound - short or long. I always set "Default Beep" to the very short "%windir%\Media\Windows Default.wav" instead of "%windir%\Media\Windows Background.wav" (which is the long default on Windows 10).

Hey that's great! I just tried it out. Thank you so much! Can I modify some resources in some DLL/EXE to make it play the default Windows sound that plays when I run: rundll32 user32.dll,MessageBeep ?

Sorry to bump this thread but can you a window border to the pop-up pre-amplifying slider window that shows upon single click. Sometimes, it is hard to see on a white or grey background :)

Yes I've noticed it distorts just with Equalizer APO enabled and pre-amp at 0 dB so I always lower it a little bit and the distortion is gone. Actually with my USB sound card with Toslink/SPDIF, the output from the card is so loud, when the Logitech speakers are on full speaker volume, I have to take the pre-amp all the way down to -20 dB. Then the audio is clean and not ear-blasting. Why this this shortcut? This is also possible on the main interface. Ah I just gave it as an example. Whatever would...

More small improvements if I may suggest: - Show the "pre amplifying" sound level in that popup just like the full UI shows - Could also add a speaker icon that is a handy shortcut to mmsys.cpl or C:\Program Files\EqualizerAPO\Configurator.exe ? - Instead of the tooltip in tray just showing Peace version, also show pre-amplifying level in tooltip of tray icon?

The sound is only played if in mmsys.cpl -> Sounds tab, there is a sound assigned to the sound event "Default Beep". Then if you open sndvol.exe or the compact volume control near the tray, up/down arrow keys play that default beep. That's defined in HKCU\AppEvents\Schemes\Apps.Default.Default.Current

No I don't mean direct hotkeys (Multimedia keys on a keyboard) but when I click the volume tray icon and then press up/down arrow keys or page up/down.

I see. Well Windows plays the sound currently for keys used in volume UI, and mouse clicks, touch/dragging/clicking outside the slider, but not for scroll wheel). Nor does it play for volume control direct hotkeys (Multimedia keys) although Peace could improve upon that :)

OMG this is exactly how I wanted it and GREATLY improves the user experience for my SPDIF output to speakers via Toslink! Thank you thank you thank you. P.S. Last request about this feature: can you make it play the default beep sound when we left click on that slider or above/below it or when we use Page up/down/arrow keys? Like how the Windows volume control does? That gives an idea of the loudness changes done by the pre-amp. And maybe ding/beep after pressing hotkeys for pre-amplifying too.

I know of a rundll32 cmd that plays that ding/beep sound: rundll32 user32.dll,MessageBeep

Thanks for replying. :) Yes so basically the super-useful detached preamp slider which also has a nice Mute checkbox but would be wonderful if it opens and closes with a single click on tray icon, also closes when clicked outside like the right click -> Pre-amplifying UI does, while the full UI appears with double click.

Instead, when we left click, it would be nice if it showed the UI near the Peace icon that is shown when we right click and choose "Pre amplifying". A double click on the other hand can open the full Peace window. WinRAR has an option like this "Wait if other copies are active" that exactly does this but I prefer 7zip and LZMA2 over RAR.

I grew up using Windows Explorer status bar and it is EXTREMELY HARD for me to estimate sizes in bytes or long numbers. Seeing the size in KB, MB make it INSTANTLY easy to estimate the size. Please an option won't hurt and will only improve the usability of 7-zip. :) I propose you add a letter "B" as well like Windows Explorer status bar: so it's KB, MB, GB, and not just K, M, G which...

You see I have 7zipped a large number of PDF eBooks because they save a lot of space that way. But I am unable to search them from the Start menu then. If I extract them to a folder, they take double the space but are searchable. A 7zip search filter as it is available for zip or rar will solve this issue. Even on SharePoint 2016, 7z archives will become searchable.
