Would you mind sharing the steps needed to make the TV mark given content as "watched"? My 49SJ800V with webOS 3.5 (User-Agent: Linux/4.4.3-119.drd4tv.5 UPnP/1.0 LGE WebOS TV LGE_DLNA_SDK/1.6.0/05.80.35 DLNADOC/1.50) doesn't seem to send any extra packets back to the server when finishing playback.

Funny thing, I was just working on the same issue. Your approach is much better, though. Can confirm as working on my LG 49SJ800V.
