A disk->disk clone with recovery mode enabled was performed on a 250GB IDE drive with bad sectors. The drive has XenServer (5.0) installed, so has 3 linux partitions with the 3rd partition holding an LVM volume containing a NTFS volume with a Windows Server 2003 instance. When the VM is launched using the clone drive, Windows fails to start with "disk read error" displayed in the VM console. NTFS utilities fail to recognise the volume as being valid.
