plotting an updating daa file.

Hi, New to Gnuplot. I am trying to make a script to plot a simple linespoint plot every 'pause 20' of a changing data file. Executing as a single command/plot, it works fine. Looping seems to work on a static data file but if the data file is changing (slower than 20 seconds), I get nothing. I'm not sure if some sort of reset or such is required between plots? A simple sample script that works would be greatly appreciated. thanks
