Since 7zip won't work really well in dealing with already compressed files (JPG, PNG, PDF, MP3...) You can try Precomp to first preprocess the files, then use 7zip ultra to compress further. I usually can sqeeze about 20%~30% smaller filesize than what 7zip ultra alone could do.

It'll be pretty handy for developers to have File Optimizer detects a git repository folder and run git gc --aggressive automatically, for large repos this could often shave multiple 100s of MB spaces instead of doing this manually. Any thoughts about this idea?
