Thank you for the explanation. This makes sense now! :-) I have an 8TB parity drive at the moment. I plan to add another 6TB (as split parity) once needed.

Hello, I recently swapped an 8TB drive and copied the data to a 14TB drive. The drive is called DATADISK5 as per below status output. As per below, it shows up with 5TB 'wasted space'. But this can't be right as the parity file is just over 5TB which matches the largest set of data on the disk. Is this just an error in the calculation (somehow)? The array is fully synced... TY for any advice... I suppose it's not a problem as such. Just a little annoying for my OCD... I just cannot work out why this...
