    In my case, the Default Mount parameter has "TrueCrypt Mode" checkbox was not ticked, which explains my confusion. Among my favorite volumes that are automatically mounted, I had one file that indeed had a "tc" extension. Renaming it to "hc" did the trick. Thank you.

    I too have this problem, each time the computer reboots and VeraCrypt is automatically launched. The mount options always have the TrueCrypt mode checked and I have to remember to uncheck it. However, I am on Windows. I still experience this annoying issue with 1.24 Update 7 (August 2020).
