    Hi Roger/Davis, I am generating 1-phase, 2-phase and 3-phase faults on multiple nodes of 123 bus test system with varying fault resistance from 0-5ohm using COM interface. When the system is balanaced (no fault), my voltages in p.u. are in the range of 0.97-1.03pu which is acceptable. However, when I put a 1-phase fault at a particular bus with 0.1ohm fault resistance, the voltage on the faulted phase drops significantly but the voltage on other phases rise as much as 1.34pu. I do not understand...

    Hi Roger, It is my understanding that IEEE distribution test cases in OpenDSS are not modeled beyond node points of buses. Since, a node in the distribution system model represents an aggregation point which feeds a small number of residential customers. My question is how we approach the problem of modeling smart meters which are installed at each home? Can we assume that an aggregation point serves multiple homes as they have certain loads attached to them or we should model each smart meter separately...

    I am creating a SLG for all the buses in 37 bus test system. All the faulted phase voltages go to zero other than bus 775. If I put a SLG fault on bus 775, it goes to zero as well. If the values are in P.U then why there is no effect on bus 775 for the faults above distribution transformer. Can someone explain?

    Hi Roger, Got it. Thanks. I know what you mean. After removing solve, it works.

    Hi, when I run OpenDSS using matlab, it goes busy and nothing comes up. I am just running a simple 37 bus sytem. This is my matlab code trying to execute ieee37.dss clear all; clc; DSSObj = actxserver('OpenDSSEngine.dss'); if ~DSSObj.Start(0), disp('Unable to start the OpenDSS Engine'); return end DSSText = DSSObj.Text; DSSCircuit = DSSObj.ActiveCircuit; DSSText.Command='Compile(C:\Users\mu12b\Documents\MATLAB\OpenDSS\ieee37.dss)'; DSSText.Command='Solve'; DSSText.Command='Export Voltages';

    Hi, I want to do some analysis and calculations on a meshed network. It seems like 342-Node Low Voltage Network Test System is not modeled in OpenDSS. Can anyone tell me is there any mesh netwok model I can use from OpenDSS as a test case. Thanks, Usama
