Great news!! Grazie Andrea.
Same issue in this thread. It seems to be just a problem of rendering priority. Could this kindly be fixed ? Thanks.
After more testing found out that the issue is not related to VICE itself but to the bash script that launches xvic (vice.sh) in Retropie 4.3 (Raspberry) when using the -cartgeneric option. Launching xvic -cartgeneric directly, without the script, works fine :-) Details on the Retropie forum.
Thanks for your reply. I was not aware it requires specific images. Still it is strange that if you load that same cartridge from VICE's menu it works. I will test with different images from command line and let you know.
Grazie Andrea per la risposta. I now understand that internal resolution is shown and things are rescaled by the Pi. Display of Advmame 3.5 on Raspberry @1080p looks good as long as you don't use any overlay. Using a 1920x1080 image as overlay (on a 1080p screen) it should use full screen; this is not happening as shown in that thread. This would suggest there's a rescaling issue when overlays are active or some other resolution setting should be used in the .art files. I can provide .art files for...
Launching VIC20 cartridges from command line does not work
Nobody has ideas or suggestions on this matter ? thanks
Hi Andrea, myself and other people on the Retropie forum have problems using .art overlays. The main issue is that we cannot find a way to set 1920 by 1080p resolution when an overlay, bezel or backdrop is active. Different overlays and different .ini settings were tested (full details in this thread ) with no success: outcome are very strange/wrong resolutions. Advancemame is the only emulator on the Pi that supports backdrops (old .art mame artwork format) so it would be perfect for Space Invaders...
