hi! i wanted to chime in with another successful report from the field. i downloaded the alternative stable - 20260913-resolute ISO & booted into it using Ventoy & selecting GRUB2 mode on a 2015 MacBookPro connected to my Dell 4k monitor via HDMI. nope - just small font like before. the only difference with the questing release is what you see in the video - it makes the font larger for a split second and then reverts to the small font. older releases do not do this confirming there is new font size change logic (as you mentioned) but the larger font is not sticking.

I nuked my USB drive and imaged the questing release to it (using UNetbootin) and same behavior as the video - it gets larger for those first 3 lines and then everything else is a small font afterwards.

thanks @gspinney for taking the time to get me the the bits for the mantic release. I copied all the files to my FAT32 USB and updated the grub.cfg as you specified. Unfortunately it isn't working for me. The questing release appears to have more promise as the font does get larger during the boot sequence (as seen in this video) but it returns to the small font shortly after @0:22
