Maybe something like an "rc" file? When I remote desktop into a work lab host and compress a set of large files, the system becomes nearly unresponsive until it's done. I wind up using -mmt2 to bypass the scheduling and ba able to use that host for other things. Then there is my rather twitchy Linux host, where compressing a large fileset hits some weird interaction between the SSD and all the CPU's being pegged... I work around this using -mmt2 as well. When I say "large" files, I mean I'm comppressing...
