It may be worth doing both. Getting xnedit into distros right now as a 6.0 seems like a good idea to me while we work on nedit-ng at either 7.0; or rename nedit to nedit-classic and give nedit-ng the full name.

Hi everyone, I've temporarily closed submissions, while we try to figure out what the long-term plan is. I wasn't aware there were so many forks - looks like people just started their own forks and suddenly stopped contributing to the main project. Which I don't quite understand, the development is as open as it's ever been, and am fine with adding new developers - nobody has asked. So that's a mystery to be solved. It would be nice to pull in the good stuff from those, things that have broad appeal...

Yeah, the domain expired a while ago.
Just a roll up of minor bug fixes and performance imporovements. Think of it as a 5.6.1. Nothing prompted it other than it's been a while since anything was pushed something out, and the distros will pick up the tip if too much time elapses.
