Yes, but these plugins store the additional secret somewhere and therefore the database cannot be synced anymore. And they do not work on Keepass2Android. My request favors the implementation in the database format itself so that it will be available anywhere.

It's not really equivalent. As far as I know I cannot PIN-protect a static password on Yubikey.

To me, it would be very helpful if alternative unlocking methods could be used: I want to use a complex password on Android (protected by fingerprint), but a keyfile on Windows (stored on a yubikey). Unfortunately, currently it is only possible to use both. But my request is to allow to use either unlock method.

I am sorry not being able to give advice of what might go wrong. I just took the sources from SVN, applied the patch and compiled the whole thing. I needed the modified version myself and wanted to provide the EXE as some people stated they didn't know how to compile the code. However, I was not yet able to test it myself as it turned out my USB-serial-converter ain't working properly. So I'm not yet able to give any feedback about the success of the patch.
