I am looking for a way of saving the neat captions that Powerpoint 365 can now generate, ideally to the slide notes.
Thank you very much. I will try your suggestions. (..)_
I am installing Visual Studio which takes a logn time, so I wont be able to run clonezilla today. I think that it may just have been a poor USB connection to my SSD, so please ignore this for the time being.
I am trying to clone my third laptop and 5th computer. I mounted the brand new 512 GB SSD. Ran Clonezilla, selected the basic interface, disk to disk and set the thing running. I come back four days later and Clonezilla has done 1.37% and says that 87 hours remain. Normally it takes about an hour. Scandisk says that nothing is wrong with my hard disk. There is about 300GB spare in my 500Gb drive. I will try again this evening. Other than bad sectors, what tends to cause stalling or really slow c...
Thank you. I am now running the clonezilla cloned program files/data SSD now. Programs are now so fast! Thank you. The only problems I encountered were 1) I had updated firefox by mistake before moving to the cloned drive and firefox was telling me not to use old software. 2) When I went to install firefox on the cloned drive, I was told that a security policy was preventing 7-zip to run on the Firefox installer. I wonder if the 7-zip is on the cloned drive. My Zip-Genius tool tool did not seem to...
Thank you. I will give it a go. I have a cloned system (and program/data) disk to go back to in the event that something goes wrong.
@Jeremy Boden Thank you very much. "Did not clone the boot loader" is actually a bit vague. Just, or very shortly before executing the clone, as the OP says, clonezilla asks Clone the boot loader? . . . y /n Till now I have only be cloning system disks so I have always said yes. Either your disk will be readable or it won't - you just have to try it. I am rather anxious that if I go to run a program that is on the cloned disk, the registry, on my system disk I believe, will then record the fact that...
I have cloned a non system disk with program files on it. I did not cloneothe boot loader. May this matter? If the cloned disk is even slightly different it may mess up the registry on my system drive because the cloned drive contains program files that I run. I am sorry to ressurect a Zombie thread that is not quite the same but I am not able to post new threads to the forum.

Perhaps he used gparted to reduce the system partitions to a minium size before cloning (and then again to increase the partition size aftewards). By the way, I attempted to use email to post to the HELP forum, but I seem to have been unable to do so. This could be becuase my regestered email address is not one from which I send email. My registered email address is a forwarder. How can one start a discussion using the Web interface rather than sending an email?

I used Steven Shiau's suggestiono, gparted and -icds recently and it worked great. Two tips In advanced mode, to select "-icds" use the space bar. It does not say how to select at the top of the advanced mode optionso screen. I used a windows recovery disk on the gparted drive first to repair the system partition. I am not sure if that was essential but the recovery disk did do stuff to the partition.
I have the similar problem. I had to reduce the size of a HDD partition for it to fit on an SDD using GParted. That went well. I am now using the halved Windows 10 HDD. I then cloned the partition onto a partition I created on the SSD but, unlike in the disk clone procedure, one is not offered the option (in Beginner Mode) of cloning the MBR as well. I do not have the option of cloning the whole HDD onto my SSD because it is too big. The SSD without MBR does not boot. So as tripbute asked in 2013...

I need to do this again, as my clone died and my old hard drive is old with loads of bad sectors so I am scared my old hard drive is goiong to die on me any minute (especially since it is now the hottest and most humid time of year here in Japan). But clonezilla on the same DVD RW as above, also on USB made with tuxboot (I first had to reformat using AOIMEI free version to FAT) does not boot even though I have changed the boot sequence to 1 Removable 2 CD 3 Hard drive And turned off fast boot. Asus...

Before attempting to update windows (7 to 10, yes, I am late) I want to clone my Win 7 system disk, in case the update goes wrong. Last time I used Clonezilla it was so easy I did not make any notes. I just wrote a testimonial (Timothy Takemoto) https://clonezilla.org/testimonials/ saying just follow the wizard. This time I am having a little bit more of a problem so I am writing this as a record. I want to clone my SSD C drive again, to another SSD identical in size (480GB). I burnt an ISO of the...
