I had to hit the Close button for the second archive also; I was still able to access the archive and the files after that. This just happened to me, archiving got stuck at 99%, while archiving C:\Users\user_name\ :D . There are more than 150k files, about 300 errors during archiving, due to access denied or files being used by another processes. Funny thing, I initially archived that folder from C: drive, on an SSD, to another SSD. It got stuck, so after about 10 minutes I hit the Close button.
