Oh just one thing I will add. Having to add all the server parameters is a pain. I do not think that the country code even makes it in half the time. I would just make one string for all parameters = most have these worked out. Just give some good examples as shown in the wiki.

Reloaded Jambox on a couple of cards and was able to get the server and client running great. My UMC2 worked great but for those that want to plug in their own USB interface my bet is on the bottom USB 2 port. With my Audiobox USB 96 it runs no jitter at NPERIODS=5 with 10 ms thru the router from client to server for over an hour. On the top port for which the UMC2 works there are constant issues with the Audiobox - and your start script does admirably to recover. Anyway I would not recommend anything...

I agree that you are better off either buying the Kevin Doren combination Jambox RP with maybe a switched out um2 for a second hand audiobox as above - this would give you 10 ms clean sound when connecting the client to the server through a local router. Just watch the USB power requirements = run the browser for the Jambox on your PC to keep any dongles off the RP.

Works great. I did the sudo systemctl start jamulus-server to start the server once I modified the /usr/lib/systemd/system/jamulus-server.service file on the desktop then sudo cp jamulus-server.service back to the same location. I changed the password for the system and this seems to have a problem with the client prompt on first startup = hopefully it does not effect anything else. Again great job Kevin. PS Like the sound coming out of SonoBus even though its even better coming from across the pond...

Sounds great Kevin - especially SonoBus and a server load button. this is exactly the way I am operating but am looking forward to the added update button as I see that so many great changes are being made to both these programs. My server has been running great and having the ability to switch to the best place in the network for the server has its advantages. Maybe the Jamulus client wiill get the ability to do this automatically = this will eliminate any cut and past to get there.

It would be nice to have a compiled version of Jamulus for the Rasperry Pi. I can Make supper before the Make for Jamulus is finished. Thank goodness for the Tools - find in the File Manager for us Pi Less dummies. Really like the idea of putting SonoBus as an alternative for Jamulus. Anyway the Server rocks when the public servers are not full - From Falcon Country in Winnipeg - I finally bought a UM2 - even when my PreSonus USB 96 was working great.

Yes just get the driver http://recordingstudio9.com/about/download/. Nick Veit referred to this in the UM22 discussion but this product uses the Midas preamps drives. These were specifically made for the Xenyx Mic preamps but the ASIO driver had problems with system notification sounds getting in ,so just turn off your notifcation sounds. When the drivers are cranked to full performance they run at 2 ms and grey out any change in buffer size in Jamulus settings. They run full blast even on a lowly...
