It is unfortunate but I don't think I can repeat all the actions as I don't have a similar file/archive. I suppose next time I may need to be more careful with 7zip. I never had this issue with Winrar so it's very strange to me. I think what went wrong though is when the new version of archive was created, it was created but it was corruptued, and then it was able to replace my current version. Maybe in the future it will be fixed? Thank you for your help!
The problem is that I reset my computers a lot of times and I don't have a copy on my computer right now because I used my USB stick to store the 7z archive. Why don't you have an option to just replace the 7z archive directly instead of putting it somewhere else???
But do you think you'll ever make that though for 7z, a function like that? For example, what I said: Can you make it so that when 7zip freezes, 7zip will terminate itself, then it will (quickly) create a backup archive and replace the original archive? Can you make something like that an option (create backup on crash)??? Or something similar?
But I don't have anything to archive right now. Can I ask you something too? Can you make it so that when 7zip freezes, 7zip will terminate itself, then it will (quickly) create a backup archive and replace the original archive? Can you make something like that an option (create backup on crash)??? Or something similar?
Hi Igor, I don't have any files that are similar (w/RT size, etc.) But I'm 100% sure that the reason why my 7z archive is damaged is because I terminated it via. task manager in the middle of adding files (because 7z froze, I had to terminate it). Apparently 7z lets that happen?
Reason of failure is because: 7zip stopped responding I used task manager to end 7zip in the middle of adding files to it Why does 7z let the user do that and allow it to happen???
Hi Igor, I'm just curious but why wasn't it able to be prevented??? And how can I avoid this happening in the future?
Can you prevent it from happening then??? 7zip not responding and I was able to use task manager to end process. That's how it happened.
