First of all thank you for the awesome product. We use Panasonic toughbooks FZ-55 and we prepared an image with our custom software on one laptop and use the image to clone onto other laptops. The Clonezilla Live 3.1.2-22-amd64 version to prepare and restore images. Rufus was used to prepare the USB from the Clonezilla ISO. Thank you Steven. The source laptop's drivers were all updated (only some required update after we received from the vendor), and after cloning, the updated drivers were verified side-by-side, especially the WWAN related adapter and panasonic wireless switch for PC.

Thanks Steven. yes.. i meant that the restored OS is not connecting to the network. we now assume that it could be a hardware fault too. checking up on that now. there is no issue with the SIMs either... they were swapped with a working\source laptop and they connect fine. one query - does clonezilla also clone bios or firmware settings ?
