So I've been messing with this and is seems that the bundled version of busybox isn't being used. I say this because I renamed busybox.exe (in the mc dir) to busybox.exe.dummy and started up mc and I get the same exact behaviour as before. I also tried starting mc from within the busybox shell (busybox.exe sh -l then mc) and this time I did not get an error message but nothing happened when I tried to execute anything from the F2 menu. It's as if busybox is not executing anything and fails silently....

Apologies if this has been covered before but I can't seem to get the menu entries under F2 to do anything. I always get the same error message no matter what I try. The error is always like this: $ /bin/sh C:/Users/user1/AppData/Local/Temp/mc-user1/mcusrKXRVOZ The system cannot find the path specified. I'm on windows10. I'm using mc 4.8.19 for WIndows/Win32. I think the problem is /bin/sh... Do you have any suggestions? Where is mc supposed to find /bin/sh? Thank you
