As I mentioned in the OP, I have the game from the GameHouse platform. I will add that the digital signature is dated at Sep 14, 2020. So I went ahead and reinstalled the game, just to make sure I get a fresh start, ran DxWnd as admin, made a new config for the game, cleared compatibility flags (2x), and then ran the game from DxWnd. It errors on startup, saying "Unable to find a DirectX device." When I run the Game.exe directly, it runs normally, (as it would without DxWnd) but the things which...

When I implemented the other suggested settings changes with the dgVoodoo2 hook in effect, there was no change from the windowing behavior that I described in the OP. My apologies, I should have mentioned in my reply. I will also note in that situation that setting the window size in DxWnd does not seem to be effective. The window size will always be set to the resolution I specify in dgVoodoo.conf

I did try enabling the settings you suggested, and adding the D3D9.dll to the alt.dll folder while enabling the ReplaceDirectXDLLs tweak. (which I restarted DXWnd to check was still in the list) This made it behave as if DxWnd was no longer doing anything at all (same as when dgvoodoo is not in the game folder before) though the log does still come back with "hook completed!" I checked log BEGIN time so I'm sure it's not an old log. [ DxWnd v2.06.06 log BEGIN: 27-03-2025 10:56:04 ] [ Flags= UNNOTIFY...
I'm trying to run Nancy Drew Secret of the Old Clock (From GameHouse platform) in windowed mode using this program. I also have dgvoodoo operating on the game which provides the D3D9.dll which I need for DxWnd to work. When the game starts, it gets set up in a window in the top left of the screen. If I unfocus the window, and then focus on it again, the game will return to fullscreen mode and I cannot find anyway to make it windowed again. (Beside exiting/restarting.) My only non-default settings...
