By the way, I'm interested to know what cisco handsets you are using aand was it difficult to get them working with Raspbx? I'm assuming you're not running SCCP?
Hmmmm... That's interesting, but the question that remains in my mind is how do I configure asterisk not to proxy RTP traffic. My two phones are on the same subnet in the same location and on the same switch, and in FreePBX I have Direct Media enabled. So I'm wondering what else do I need to configure to ensure RTP goes point to point. I'm trying to limit the amount of work the Raspbx needs to do, as when it takes on some trascoding I am seeing packets drop because the poor processor cant keep up....
Thanks. Wireshark tells me the RTP is going via the PBX. Even though I have Direct Routing set to 'Yes' on both extensions.
As it says in the title. I can make and receive calls fine between 2 handsets on my LAN, but looking at a wireshark, it looks like the RTP traffic isn't going directly from one handset to the other, its going via the FreePBX. All devices are on the same subnet. I get that external calls may need to do this so the FreePBX can take care of any transcoding that is needed, but identical phones using the same codec, the RTP traffic should go direct shouldn't it?
Woo hoo! That's done the trick. I now don't get the error, and I'm able to carry...
