Update: I understood from this recent video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vwewIsSAls) that it is possible to do the propensity score matching without SPSS, just using R and its MatchIt plugin. Hence I tried and installed all downloadable versions of R compatible with MacOS Mojave 10.14.6. (these were R versions; 3.3.3 -for OS X 10.9 and higher-, 3.6.3, and the latest 4.1.3 for OS X 10.13 and higher). Dear Mr. Thoemmes, Thank you for this clarification. The extension "MatchIt" is not available for R version 3.3 (which is the version required for SPSS version 25) - these are as I understand the required versions of SPSS and R for doing Propensity Score Matching on a MacOS. As it was explained here (https://github.com/IBMPredictiveAnalytics/R_Essentials_Statistics/wiki), I downloaded and installed both, the R plugin (STATS_R33_CONFIGURATION) for SPSS. However I tried and failed to install the PSMATCHING3.04.spe...
