    What NAPS2 version are you using? I do remember something that once upon a time an old version had such bug. Other than that, you can use Keyboard Shortcuts. Each scan profile can be invoked via F2, F3, F4 etc. This is the fastest way to handle this.

    The Microsoft Defender definitions have been updated. 7-zip is no longer reported as malicious. to force a Defender definition update run the following command from PowerShell (admin): Update-MpSignature Some machines may need to do it twice.

    I think that it is all about the drivers and the post processing of the scanned document. Did you check for a more recent driver? Also, is there a more recent firmware update for the Epson printer?

    That's because you are scanning in Black and white mode and not in gray scale. There is always some compromise as the scanner has to use some kind of threshold where it decides to show the pixel or not. Try gray scale.

    Update - I am not sure if MS fixed something, but since MS Office updated to version 16.0.16827.20166, it is working now. Even though the ticket was originally posted with Office 2013 in mind, the problem was also replicable on newer version.

    Its a Windows 7 Pro x86 system (all updates applied) with ESET NOD32 Antivirus. When I ran NAPS2 as a different user, the application started just fine. It just had no config files. So I've tried to remove the config files from %APPDATA% of the primary user, but it had no effect. This system has a Samsung SCX-3400 Series Multi functional Printe which is connected via USB, It looks like NAPS2 is doing some evals of the user settings after the startup and failes here.

    As soon as I get to the computer, I'll update the ticket. So far I do remeber, there were no errors on the event log. The only records were fom WER including the dumps which I've deleted just before I downgraded NAPS2. I'll dig deeper in the logs.

    sorry, I've mixed up the tickets. Yet still, the 6.1.1 does not allow me to choose a email provider. I get a blankwindow which is resizeable to side.

    I am sorry Ben, the 6.1.1. does have the same issue. naps2-6.1.1-setup.exe /silent /norestart it still starts the application after the setup finishes.

    Hi Ben, sure I can, no worries. its just that the point of being silent IS to be silent. If it is impossible to remove the app opening from the EXE installer (for any reason), then remove the silent install option from it and just add a notification message recomending the MSI installer instead.     In my case, the client was already selected. I also made sure that the setting sticks by selecting a different option and reselecting Outlook. The question is where the error comes from MAPI (Messaging Application Programming Interface ) or SimpleMAPI as the 1st is a Outlook thing where the 2nd can be user by other mail clients.

    Hey guys, in this case #MeToo. Windows 10 Pro #1809 x64 with MS Office 2010 x86. TheUI language and the locals are set to Slovak. Naps2 version 5.8.2 works just fine, the new 6.1.0 errors out with "MAPI returned error code: Failure". NAPS2 itself does not crash during the action nor after that.

    Thats cool, will you add the ability to set the default PDF version during installation? i.e. naps2-5.8.0-setup.exe /silent /norestart /pdfversion=A3B or do we have to copy a custom appsettings.xml during the installation?

    Hi Ben, the suggested change did not help at all. I've also discovered that not only the grayscale but also the color scanned PDFs are not accepter. I had to reinstall the 5.5.0 version to remedy the problem.

    Hi Ben, its http://www.qsign.sk/ but unfortunately they dont have a English version. Never the less you need a qualified signature to use this tool anyway. Its creating ZEP (sugnature) files, which can then be submited to the Slovak e-government sites, I'll try out your suggestion and get back to you.
