I am facing the same problem. When I type I see Tamil, when I save I still see Tamil, then when I exit the categories screen and return the Tamil has been replaced with question marks (?). After editing the (?) in the database to Tamil Unicode Charecter, I can see the Tamil Character in the category, but I can see only boxes in the product list. The issue was in the "Tamil-Aishwarya" font. If I needs to type anything in my regional langauge tamil, I used "Tamil-Aishwarya" font. It contains tamil characters in the windows western character set. When I copy the word and pasted in the files in other unicode fonts, the coresponding unicode charecters are displayed insteed of the tamil charecter. Now, with the help of the tamil onscreen keyboard I am able to type the tamil unicode charecters directly in the "Nirmala UI" or "Arial Unicode MS"...

My Issue is whatever the font I change. The character set in the western script is available in all apps including unicenta, notepad, excel, etc.. For example, If I needs to type anything in my regional langauge tamil, I use "Tamil-Aishwarya" font because it contains tamil characters in the windows western character set. Hello All, I need to Change only the product item and category in Tamil, India (code:ta_IN). I tried all the above solutions. But I am not able to type in Tamil. Finally I found out that the script is "western" insteed of "unicode" for the font "Nirmala UI" in the notepad. If I change to other font that has Tamil langauge in the script "western" the font through out the app is changing to Tamil Langauge How can I change the "Nirmala UI" script to "unicode" from "western" in windows 7/8/10.
