We are using Infinispan and JGroups in our application for replicated cache. Our application was working fine for last 6 months now suddenly started Timeout issue. Users are not able to login to our application. The solution is restart all the servers. Again it works for 9 to 10 hours again the same TimeoutException. We have recently upgraded our application to Java 8, Infinispan 9.2.1 and JGroups 4.0.11. And we use replicated sync cache. In our UI when user click an item, we load entries from database and this involves Infinispan and JGroups because we store few info in cache like definition not all the entries. And our servers(Tomcat) are running in cluster mode. Cache will be replicated to other servers. We have a requirement we want to add additional nodes dynamically without restarting existing nodes. Currently we have added list of nodes in initial_hosts in jgroups.xml file. Whenever we want to add additional nodes we have to modify the jgroups.xml file and restart the existing nodes. We have multiple nodes behind load balancer and each nodes maintain own cache if the cache is updated in any one of the node then the cache value need to be synced in all the other nodes. We use Infinipan and JGroups for this cache sync in multiple servers. In our actual config file localhost is replaced with ip address and initial_host will have list of node ip address that are participating in load balancer.
