I use only Windows Defender on my Win10 machine, so I tried adding EqualizerAPO to the Defender "whitelist" but it didn't help. As for the troublrshooter, I've checked the Realtek audio playback device, but I still get no "install as" option. Is there a way to enable "install as SFX/EFX" in the config file maybe?

When I tick the troubleshoot checkbox, I get no drop downlist to "install as" either. I hate to say this but I think I'm giving up.
I also cannot get Equalizer APO to work on my Win10 Pro machine. It has always worked perfectly on my Win7 Pro laptop, but I cannot think of anything else to try to get it working. It's a supremely wonderful product and I feel almost lost without it on Win10. Both laptops use a RealTek audio driver (tho' different versions) and I could really use a suggestion that hasn't already been mentioned since none of them so far work. I just don't understand what could possibly be the problem. Any help would...
