Subject line says it all. 3d pdfs can be created using something called asymptote, but it seems pretty foreign to me. Some articles say 3d pdfs are obsolete and surpassed with newer techs, like webgl and GiTF, but I have not found any "viewer" apps supporting those that approach the performance and compact files I get with 3d pdfs and acrobat reader, using PRC tessellated data.

There seems to be so much documentation to soft through for Asymptote, that I was hoping to find an easier path by asking here. My ultimate goal is to create a PRC based 3d pdf from within my cad software using it's VBA programming. Figured I would traverse my model tree and write it out to an asy file that can be run thru the executable to convert it to a 3d pdf. Is anyone aware of any more specific examples I could check out along these lines? TIA!

My python environment is setup using anaconda 3. The default desktop shortcut for the latest version of Asymptote does not seem to function with this setup. Windows wants me to select an app for .py files, but there is no default python interpreter listed. What can I do to fix this please?
